What is Udyog Aadhar For MSME?
Udyog Aadhaar is also known as MSME registration. This is a certification issued to the micro, small and medium size businesses in India under the purview of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006 (MSMED). Udyog Aadhaar for MSME was formerly known as MSME registration earlier. Presently this procedure is amalgamated with the Udyog Aadhaar registration online by the Government. The aim of the MSME department for providing such businesses an Udyog Aadhaar registration are:
- Enabling the MSME with an equal footing to deal with international competition successfully.
- Endorsing the growth of such enterprises on a larger scale to deal with the challenges that unemployment and poverty bring.
- Providing all the benefits of various government schemes at one point of service to SSI units.
- Protecting SSI units from financial bullying by big organizations.
What Was The Old Eligibility Criteria for MSME Udyog Aadhaar?
- A micro-enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
- A small enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees; and
- A medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.
New MSME Update By The Government of India
The Government of India launched a COVID-19 centric specialized loan and funding scheme for Startups as well as SMEs on the 13th of May, 2020. This has been one of the several attempts of the Government to help these entities recover from the effects of the lockdown.
